Pansy was born out of Minneapolis in 2020, a year of hardship and taking risks for many. With a creative background in music as well as being born into a family who excel at gardening and horticulture, floral design quickly entranced me. Gathering inspiration from flowers with lots of personality, it was easy to name this business after my late Grammie’s favorite one. Every time winter breaks in April, I rush to the garden center to buy pansies for my front step, to remind me of her.
As an event florist in a very wasteful industry, sustainability has been hugely important to me since the beginning. During the spring, summer and fall seasons we source the majority of our product from local MN growers while designing arrangements and installations without the use of floral foam — a single use non-biodegradable, non-recyclable, toxic substance. Instead of foam, we utilize chicken wire and other reusable mechanics for installations and are passionate about expanding our sustainability methods each year as a small business.
Our flower team provides elevated, artistic designs that are grounded in unique color combinations and ingredients. We want to spread the immense joy and giddiness we feel about every single bloom with our clients. There is no shortage of incredible vendors in the Twin Cities event industry and we get excited to continually deepen our relationships with other vendor partners we cross paths with.
