Pansy was birthed out of Minneapolis in 2020, a year of taking leaps and risks. I was introduced to floral design the year prior and never looked back. Coming from a lineage of women who take their gardens, houseplants and horticulture very seriously, floral design just felt like my place. I named this business after pansies because they were my Grammie’s favorite flower, and every time winter breaks each April, I rush to the garden center to buy some for my front step, to always think of her.
Sustainability has always been a high value to me in this business. During the growing season we prioritize sourcing as much product from Minnesota farmers as possible along with creating arrangements and installations without the use of floral foam — a non-biodegradable, non-recyclable and toxic substance — while being sure to compost blooms following every event. We are passionate about learning + seeking out better sustainability methods as Pansy grows.
The Pansy team aims to provide elevated, high-end designs that are grounded in unique color combinations. Use of color is one of our strengths, and I hope you can see that through the work we produce.
Aside from flowering I’m big into cooking, caring for and collecting houseplants, and planning the next trip up North to Lake Superior or the West Coast.
